Dad.

I look at your face, as I stare in the frame.
Your smile is so tender, your face still the same.
A pang strikes so deep, & memories flood back,
Your eyes warm and loving, with nothing to lack.
It seems so long, since your presence filled a room,
The sound of your deep voice, dispelling our gloom.
You taught us to be good, you showed us how to give.
You loved us like no other, encouraging us to live.
The seeds purposefully planted, have now begun to flower.
Continuing to grow – Just like a strong tower.
You focused your teaching, ” it’s all about character”.
You knowing full well, this was the X factor!
Your life full of wisdom was shared out with ease,
Your love and compassion, was vast as the seas.
Your great faith in God, well! what can we say!
Just to follow your path, it leads the right way.
Our eyes firmly fixed on the same goal you had,
We know you are cheering and not that you’re sad.
The turn is now ours, there’s nowhere to run.
We’ve rolled up our sleeves, to get the job done.
Dad you are missed, more than words can say,
But we know we will see you, again one fine day.
